La figlia del bosco

The horror film La figlia del bosco, the first work by Mattia Riccio, will be released on April 7 on Prime Video and Tim Vision. Produced by Vinians Production and distributed by Minerva Pictures, the film is a visual and narrative experience that mixes the topoi of genre cinema with a strong environmentalist component, telling a dark fairy tale in which nature is both judge and executioner.

Bruno, at the end of a hunting trip in an unknown forest, loses his bearings, unable to find his way back. As night falls, a disturbing song draws him towards a house hidden among the trees, starting a nightmare with no way out.

The film, written and directed by Mattia Riccio, is part of the eco-vengeance genre, staging a “stepmother” nature that takes revenge on those who do not respect its essence. The story is nourished by a dark and visionary imagination, inspired by dark fantasy video games, where the suspended and mysterious atmosphere accompanies the viewer on a distressing, suffocating and unpredictable journey, leaving the question of whether there is a possibility of salvation hanging in the balance.

Shot between Monte Terminillo and Monte Livata, La figlia del bosco represents a production challenge carried out by a young crew composed entirely of professionals under 30: with a limited budget and only two weeks of shooting, the project was able to transform production limitations into a strength, returning a work with a strong visual and emotional impact.

Vinians Production confirms its commitment to supporting projects with a strong pedagogical and social denunciation component, choosing horror as the privileged language to dialogue with the new generations. La figlia del bosco is not just a genre film, but a reflection on the relationship between man and nature, a warning that, through thrills and suspense, invites greater environmental awareness.

The cast includes Davide Lo Coco, Giorgia Palmucci, Giulia Malavasi and Angela Potenzano.
